Credit card debt management

Posted on 08 December 2008 by NMP Network Administrator

[ad#adsense]
Though a lot of people are comfortable with going forward with credit card debt management all by themselves, not everyone is. There are people who don’t really want to tread into the territory of financial issues (credit card debt management included). Such people generally prefer going to debt assistance companies for advice on credit card debt management or for getting the credit card debt management done through them. However, even before we talk further on this topic of credit card debt management, it’s imperative to understand that any external person or agency can only do a proper credit card debt management for you if you strictly follow the advice/guidelines that they formulate as part of credit card debt management. These credit card debt management guidelines are generally related to controlling your spending (which basically means perseverance and contentment).

Going to a credit card debt management company or a credit card debt management adviser/professional is not meant only for people who are foreign to financial topics but is sometimes fruitful for other people too (who are going with credit card debt management all by themselves). This arises from the fact that these credit card debt management professionals (as any professional) would have more knowledge in that field than anyone else that is not from that field/profession. So, firstly, you wouldn’t know all the tips and tricks that the credit card debt management professional would know (and in fact this is something that you cannot read and learn overnight). And secondly, it will save you a lot of time; because the person who practices credit card debt management as a profession would know about all the latest offers etc that are available in the market e.g. balance transfer offers etc (and hence you don’t need to go looking for all this stuff all by yourself). All in all, a credit card debt management professional can help get you a better deal that might more than compensate for the fee charged by that professional. If you look around you will find that there are hordes of companies and professionals offering credit card debt management services. However, the key here is that you choose someone whose credentials are already established (or who can prove his credentials to you). One good way of selecting a credit card debt management company/ professional is to check with a friend or someone from your family, if they have used any such service in recent times. After all, references are the best way of building trust.

Premium Content: A home-based after school program

Posted on 08 December 2008 by Dr. Robert White

This is a PLR Article for Bronze Members.

So, your son’s school does not offer any extracurricular activities. You
are worried of depriving your child of all that extra knowledge and fun.

What should you do?
{+}
After school activities need not be taught in a school-like environment by professional teachers in a structured and timely manner. There is a lot YOU can do to support your child’s academic, physical and social development. Do not be too concerned about formal programs, as many of our children are already over-scheduled.

Obviously, school is top priority for children. They need to go to school, and finish their homework. They should then do their daily reading or writing work etc. This may take about 30-60 minutes. In the course of his daily work, your child may develop certain academic preferences and interests. In that case, you can try and find a program in a college or a community center that will help him and encourage him. In the age of the Internet, information is really not a rarity. Allow him to use the net to find more information about thing that he likes. Encouraging the child to do independent research to gain in-depth knowledge is something that no formal program does.

If you are concerned about the lack of social life, enroll him or her in a
club – a reading club maybe. Visit public libraries or even the theater,
if your child is interested. It is not necessary for your child to make
friends with children his own age. A parent-child book club is another
interesting option. If you can round up a number of like-minded children and their parents, you may well start your own after-school program.

When there is no organized group activity, look to your community. Many children love to get involved in social problems. They get their first real taste of suffering, charity and community help from such experiences.

Volunteering for clean-up sessions, adult education programs etc could be a real eye-opener for your child. The lessons thus learnt are invaluable.

If physical activity or the lack of it is your major concern, enroll your
child for some dancing classes. If organized sports are impossible to get, try to enroll her in a gym. She may find friends there and may take to the treadmill.

Your child does not necessarily have to be a part of an organized group to benefit from after-school activities. There are various avenues open in front of you. Roping in the enthusiasm of your children in daily household activities like cooking, cleaning etc can also provide them with a refreshing extracurricular experience. Moreover, it will improve family ties too.

Four Good Reasons to Use Viral E-books

Posted on 08 December 2008 by Dr. Robert White

[ad#buydotcom]
It is a well known and widely accepted fact, that E-books….FREE E-books…are one of the best weapons in a viral marketing campaign arsenal. Here are four good reasons why this is true today and will continue to be true for the foreseeable future:

1. E-books are cheap to produce and don’t take long to set up. If you have articles that you have already written about the subject you are promoting, you can simply combine these articles into an E-book. If, on the other hand, writing isn’t your forte, you can use rebrandable E-books that have been produced by others. Just use your favorite search engine and do a web search for “rebrandable E-books”. You will get a lot of hits and have many to choose from. One way to distribute these E-books to visitors to your website is to give them as a free gift for subscribing to your newsletter. If your E-book contains material that people will want to share with their friends and family, they will pass it along to them… they will pass it along to others…and you will make money.

2. E-books are capable of reaching a large audience. The only limiting factor is the enthusiasm or the participants. Therefore, it is absolutely vital that your E-book contain something that people will want to share like timely information or humor. Remember that people like to know something that the rest of the world needs to know. They will pass along something that makes them look like they are in-the-know.

3. E-books are a way to sell other products other than the one you originally targeted. For example; if you are selling garden products, your customers could also be interesting in E-books about lawns, trees landscaping, etc.

4. E-books are effective in building your reputation. It is an implied recommendation if you give a quality E-book and users willing pass on to others.

A Few Tidbits On WordPress Core Upgrade

Posted on 08 December 2008 by Jeffro

I’ve been monitoring the WP-Testers mailing list ever since 2.7 reached beta status. Over the weekend, their were two interesting questions which were asked and then answered that I think many people would like to know as well.

The first question is by Kirk M:

I know this was asked before but I’ve forgotten. In the past I’ve always deactivated all my plugins manually before updating the core. Now I find myself using 2.7’s auto-update feature the same way–the second thing I do before updating is to bulk deactivate all my plugins (first is to backup DB). So… Does running 2.7’s new core auto update automatically deactivate plugins before updating and reactivate them after it’s finished or does that still have to be done manually?

Ryan Boren promptly answered with the following:

During the upgrade, your blog is put in maintenance mode and loading is halted at the beginning of wp-settings.php. Nothing really runs, including plugins. The only thing allowed to run is the DB upgrade, which takes care of making sure plugins are not loaded. You don’t need to deactivate plugins unless you like turning them back on one-by-one after upgrading to isolate any breakage they might cause.

The next question was asked by Michael Hancock:

I’m guessing that developers have this covered, but, are we sure that the core update works with the state of things set as if 2.7 is already released and installed? Meaning, the core update really won’t do anything until a 2.7.1 is released, right?

After 2.7 is installed, and before 2.7.1 (yes 2.7.1) is released, what will happen if a user clicks the Upgrade Automatically button? Or will that button be visible?

Right now the upgrade ‘does an upgrade’ even if the installation is already at the latest version…

Just anticipating a Forum deluge.

Here is what Ryan Boren had to say:

If you are running 2.7-xxx, you will get a notice to upgrade to 2.7 once it is available. From there you will be out of the development release track and onto the regular release track. To get back on the development release track you can change the version in wp-includes/version.php to ‘2.8-alpha’.

I felt the need to document these here as I find these to be interesting questions which I was wondering about myself. It looks like end users will no longer have to manually deactivate and then reactivate their plugins if they choose the automatic upgrade route. Also learned through Ryan’s answer that the notion of deleting files and your directory structure of WordPress versus simply overwriting the files is now a moot point. An awesome time saver for many, I’m sure.
