Episode 32 – A Podcasting 101 Series: Producing Quality Screencasts

Like any other show night, we had our share of technical difficulties. Tonight, the audio was crackling and blurping (thanks to Leslie for coining that new term), however, as luck would have it, the uStream audio came out almost perfect. I was able to download the FLV file from uStream and extract the audio and was able to use that to re-upload to the podcast. Even my local recording had issues, but uStream saved the day!

Speaking of uStream, the whole point of tonight’s episode was Producing Quality Screencasts. Hard to talk about it, so I showed everyone by broadcasting a screencast I made over uStream. I will have that screencast available in this post, in case you are interested and didn’t get a chance to see it last night.

My screencast was demosntrating the use of ScreenShow Pro, a $97.00 valued screen capture program. ScreenShow Pro is kind of like a stripped down version of Camtasia Studio, only without the bells and whistles. For a limited time, you can click on Free Gift at the top of the page and download this program for free! Don’t wait too long, as I will be removing it later this week and replacing it with another give away.

The audio issues seemed to be related to the VOIP connection and thanks to Josh Budde, he is working with the Engineers at Talkshoe to see what they can do to fix this issue. I have experimented today with Gizmo and the SIP connection, however, the issues were still there. I sent a copy of the MP3 file to Josh to pass on.

Jeff Chandler announced that he would be giving up his WordPress Weekly show after Friday Night. His show will be missed. However, for now, he will still have his WordPress News every Friday night on Podcaster Training.

I announced at the beginning of the show, the merging of Business 101 into our format. It was a hit and we got a lot of great response from the listeners too. I have already posted the segment over on Show ID 20332 for the RSS Feed downloads. You will be able to hear the Business 101 segment as part of the Podcaster Training podcast as I am leaving it in for the listeners of this show.

One last item, if you would like to be interviewed on Business 101, please contact Patti Serrano through her web site at http://www.pattiserrano.com

You must have a traditional business, network marketing or MLM type of business and most types of home based businesses will apply here as well. Contact Patti to see if you can be interviewed on the show.

Likewise, if you would like to be interviewed on Podcaster Training, just let me know and I will set you up for an interview. I would request that you be in a podcast, video or other New Media style or have something to do with the New Media world. This will make it more appealing to my listeners.

Tip #19: Dispute errors on your credit report

Posted on 12 July 2008 by NMP Network Administrator

There are a few tips that can help you deal with your credit report so that you can give your credit score a boost:

Contact each of the three major credit bureaus – TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian – and get copies of your credit reports and credit scores. Carefully read over the reports and note any errors. In writing, contact the credit bureaus and ask that mistakes be removed or investigated.

This is called a dispute letter and once it is received, credit bureaus have to investigate your dispute within thirty days of receiving your letter. It is important to keep a copy of your letter and it is important to note the date the letter was sent. You should not be accusatory or abusive in your letter – calmly and clearly state the problem and request an investigation.

Note that you are aware the agency is required to investigate the claim within thirty days and note that you will follow up. Be sure that you do follow up with the issues you raised in your letter – just because the agency investigates does not always mean that your credit report will end up error-free.

Many credit bureaus now make it possible for you to correct errors on your credit report online – and many have information on their web sites that tells you exactly how disputes must be handled to be effectively removed. It is important that you follow this information exactly so that the inaccuracies on your credit report are removed promptly and your credit score is updated as soon as possible.
